Breaking Ground on the LADF Dodgers Dreamfield
It is a really amazing experience to see the work of Kershaw’s Challenge come to fruition. After a year of raising funds for our project with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, we were thrilled to present them with our end-of-year contribution. Friends, this is thanks to YOUR support of Kershaw’s Challenge. We hope that you join us in this excitement!
On February 12, Clayton flew out of LA on his way to Spring Training. He attended the official groundbreaking of the baseball fields at Gonzalez Park in the city of Compton. These Dodgers Dreamfields will honor Jackie Robinson and revive baseball and softball play in the area. In addition to the fields, the project will include Fitness and Training Zones, named for Kershaw’s Challenge. Clayton was able to stand with the Robinson family and members of the community to dig the first shovel of dirt on this project.
This is exactly what Kershaw’s Challenge is all about: identifying a need and then seeking a great solution to make life better for kids. These fields, this project, is doing exactly what. We are so excited about the construction ahead and most important—about the baseball and activities ahead on Gonzalez Park. On behalf of our team, thank you for making this project a reality!
