Meet our 2021 Beneficiaries: Arise Africa

This year, we celebrate 10 YEARS of Kershaw’s Challenge! It’s hard to believe! Over the last 10 years, with your generosity and support, we have given over $14 MILLION to families and children in need across the globe. We are truly blown away and so grateful.

Ten years behind us...and a lifetime ahead! What a joy to begin a new season...and a new decade of impact through Kershaw’s Challenge! After the unprecedented year of 2020, we are looking forward to a new year with great anticipation. We prayerfully consider each beneficiary relationship and project, knowing that our support can be transformative for these organizations. With great joy, we are excited to share with you our 2021 Beneficiaries and Projects.

First up, Arise Africa! Our friendship with Arise Africa dates all the way back before Kershaw’s Challenge even existed. It all started with a little girl named Hope, and from there Kershaw’s Challenge was born!

Arise Africa is located in Zambia. Arise Africa is a beautiful picture of redemption of the hands and feet of Jesus - so many lives and families have been transformed in their compound, called N’gombe. The compound is the home to many children and families and Arise staff cares for children living here through a child sponsorship and feeding program. They are in the compound every day—serving and ministering to an area that is poor and desolate.

This year, our 2021 projects with Arise Africa include: help build a Sports Complex at the Arise Christian School, stock the kitchen of their new facility at the McDonald Brown School, as well as contribute to the “Higher Education Fund”, giving Arise Home kids resources for higher education after graduation.

Currently, Arise Africa would be blessed by our participation in a combination of several projects. First, our goal is to help them build a Sports Complex at the Arise Christian School. Second, we are excited to offer support to another Arise Africa school in Zambia, the McDonald Brown School, by “stocking the kitchen” of their new facility. Finally, it is our tremendous joy to contribute to the “Higher Education Fund”—giving our incredible Arise Home kids the resources they need to seek higher education after graduation.

What a picture of the Lord’s faithfulness—that the children who sought refuge in the Arise Homes are thriving and considering “what’s next” after high school graduation. Glory to God!
