Beneficiary Introductions... Interfaith Family Services
We are so thrilled to be partnering with Interfaith Family Services for the 2018 season! Interfaith is located in Clayton and Ellen's hometown of Dallas, Texas. They seek to empower families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty. What an incredible mission!
Interfaith Family Services started in 1985 and has since grown from simply transitional housing to serving families through their Family Empowerment Program, providing housing for homeless families, and providing services for children. They exclusively target working poor families, serving homeless parents and children through services designed to eliminate housing barriers, equip parents to obtain viable careers and overcome financial challenges, and educational support services for children. They are ACTIVELY helping families get off the streets and back on their feet.
In the 2016-2017 fiscal year, 88% of their families graduated the program with employment, 93% of the families graduated to permanent housing, and had an average salary of $14.05 per hour (which is nearly $14,000 a year more than minimum wage)! 100% of their 2016 graduates remained employed and in housing one year later. 97% of the 2015 graduates remained employed and in housing 2 years later. Interfaith is making an incredible impact to break the cycles of poverty for many families.
We are honored to partner with Interfaith as they break ground on a new building - the Family Empowerment Center! Our goal for this year is to sponsor the "Teen Floor" of the new building. We want to provide a wonderful, safe, and supportive place for teens to gather. Please help us reach our goal by donating to Kershaw's Challenge TODAY! 100% of your donation will go directly to the work of our beneficiaries.
