2020 Beneficiary Introductions: International Justice Mission

It’s time for another beneficiary introduction! We are thrilled to introduce International Justice Mission and honored to partner with their Dominican Republic office to help their rescue and restore efforts.

IJM focuses on three core missions: to protect the poor from violence by rescuing victims and restoring survivors to safety and strength, bringing criminals to justice, and strengthening the justice system. From IJM “Every day, countless people are trafficked into slavery, as slave owners make a profit off their vulnerability. International Justice Mission is a global organization with a solution to end it.’ To read more about IJM as a global organization, click here.

This year, we are honored to support the tireless work of the DR office. Our hope is to equip the team to continue to protect children from sex trafficking by bringing rescue to boys and girls, restoring survivors, restraining suspects and securing convictions of traffickers. Additionally, our funds would support the IJM team’s work through major transformation initiatives. Efforts will focus to improve four main areas:

  • aftercare support for survivors

  • support local anti-trafficking units to improve their investigative work

  • advocate for law reform changes

  • continue to mobilize community and church actors.

We were thrilled to visit the Dominican Republic last year with IJM and got to witness first hand the remarkable work of rescuing and restoring children trapped in sex slavery in the DR.  To read more about our amazing trip, click here and see below for a special piece ESPN did about our trip.
