2020 Beneficiary Introductions: Both Ends Believing

Give a warm welcome to another one of our 2020 Beneficiaries, Both Ends Believing. We are thrilled to partner with them again in 2020 as we fund the next steps of the Children’s First Software in the DR and Zambia.

A little about our beneficiary, Both Ends Believing: “We envision a world in which every child grows up in a family. To achieve this vision, we will use the following approach:” 

Maximize the impact of our Global Working Group

  • Organize global summits to confront the global child welfare crisis

  • Establish an active dialogue and connection between member countries

  • Provide continued support and measurement of Children First results for each country implementing the software

Implement technology to improve child welfare systems

  • Provide state of the art software free of charge

  • Equip partner countries with long term support in order to increase the effectiveness of their current child welfare systems

  • Manage software implementation globally and provide continued support after implementation

Our goal in 2020 in the DR would be primarily focused completing the “Monitoring Module”—the technology that allows the government to actively and effectively monitor children placed in new homes. The work of BEB is further along in the DR than in any other country—Conani (child welfare in the DR) has embraced the entire vision of the Children First Software. Children are being actively placed into homes— how amazing! The government is clamoring for technology to empower them to address their post-placement monitoring challenges. Our funding would also support the cost of a country representative and necessary travel needs for oversight.

In Zambia, Both Ends Believing needs to get the effort off the ground and capitalize on progress. Our funding would send Both Ends Believing to plan and implement the pilot program and support the country representative—a critical success factor.
