2020 Beneficiary Introductions: Arise Africa

Give a warm welcome to our next beneficiary, Arise Africa! Our friendship with Arise Africa dates all the way back before Kershaw’s Challenge even existed. It all started with a little girl named Hope, and from there Kershaw’s Challenge was born!

Arise Africa is located in Zambia. Arise Africa is a beautiful picture of redemption of the hands and feet of Jesus - so many lives and families have been transformed in their compound, called N’gombe. The compound is the home to many children and families and Arise staff cares for children living here through a child sponsorship and feeding program. They are in the compound every day—serving and ministering to an area that is poor and desolate.

Since 2016 through our partnership with Arise Africa, we have seen the completion of the Arise Christian School. This year, our 2020 project is to see the fourth and final phase of the Arise Christian School. The school is already thriving and we are thrilled to be looking at the completion of the project! This final phase will include 2 classrooms, another bathroom block, an amphitheater, all furnishings for classrooms and the cherry on top: landscaping to finish out the school! Another way to meet the needs of Arise Africa is through their child sponsorship program. Today, we are sharing the stories of two incredible girls who need your help: Violet and Margaret. 

Margaret and Violet have been students in the sponsorship program since 2014 but in 2018, the girls bravely revealed that they were enduring abuse in their home by a family member. After a grueling court case and custody battle for the next 2 years, the girls were placed into Arise's full-time care, forever! Hallelujah! To read their full story, click here!  

Margaret and Violet are now safe in the care of Arise Africa but need donors to join their sponsorship team to help fund their education, counseling and living expenses. For $50 a month, sponsors can help support these precious girls. From Arise Africa, “Sponsors play a huge role in encouraging, loving, and praying for each child and truly mean the world to them!”
